	Religious Exemptions (podcast) Should religious organizations be exempt from following laws governing such matters as gay marriage that conflict with their beliefs? Should individuals be exempt from following laws such as the draft that violate their religious principles? Tom Reese, S.J., distinguished visiting scholar at the Center, leads a discussion of the Center's Emerging Issues Group.Details >>
	Budgeting in a Time of Fiscal Crisis (video) As local governments struggled to pass budgets this year, they frequently confronted tough choices between worthwhile programs and projects. San Jose City Councilmember Sam Liccardo talks with Center Senior Fellow in Government Ethics Judy Nadler about the values that guide such decisions. Details >>
	Living Situations (case study) Students from SCU, Columbia, UCLA, and University of North Texas gave thoughtful responses to the case of an incoming African American freshman who is trying to decide whether to live in an ethnically themed residence hall. The case is part of the Center's Big Q project to involve undergrads in dialog on ethical issues in their everyday lives. Details >>
	The Role of the CFO in a Company's Ethical Culture (panel summary) The Center's Business and Organizational Partnership heard a panel this summer on how the chief financial officer can be an "ambassador for ethics" within an organization.
